Triangular Moving Average
A double-smoothed average that weights the middle of the window most — a very smooth, low-noise trend line.
How to read it
TMA Bands centre on a Triangular Moving Average — an MA that's averaged twice, so it's exceptionally smooth and lags a bit more than a normal MA. An envelope band is drawn above and below it. Price mostly oscillates around the smooth centre line.
Trading signals
The smooth centre reads as the trend; a decisive close through it can flag a shift. The bands act like Bollinger — touches of the outer band in a range mark stretched conditions, and a push that rides the band signals a trend. Its smoothness makes it a clean filter, not a fast trigger.
Parameters
TMA Period sets the window of the triangular average (and, with it, the band). A longer period is smoother and slower; the double-averaging already removes most of the noise a plain MA would show.
