Momentum Ghost Machine (MGM)
A multi-stage smoothed momentum delta with its own MA line for crossover confirmation.
How to read it
MGM is a multi-stage smoothed momentum delta oscillating around zero, drawn alongside its own MA (signal) line. Above zero momentum is bullish, below it bearish; the gap between the MGM line and its MA shows whether momentum is accelerating or fading.
Trading signals
MGM crossing above its MA (marked) is a bullish trigger; crossing below is bearish. A zero-line cross confirms the regime. Because it's smoothed, it lags a raw momentum reading — pair it with a trend filter to avoid whipsaws in flat markets.
Parameters
MGM Length is the base momentum lookback. MGM Smoothing and MGM Post Smoothing progressively tame noise at the cost of lag. MGM MA Length sets the signal line's responsiveness — a shorter MA gives earlier but less reliable crosses.
