Hull Butterfly Oscillator
Built on the fast Hull moving average; its band expansion highlights momentum bursts and exhaustion.
How to read it
The Hull Butterfly is an oscillator built on the fast Hull moving average, swinging around a zero line between an upper (overbought) and lower (oversold) band. When the line pushes past a band, momentum is stretched and prone to snap back; the further it pokes out, the more extended the move.
Trading signals
A cross back inside from above the upper band is a potential short/exit; a cross back up from below the lower band is a potential long. A move through the zero line marks the momentum flip. In a strong trend the line can ride a band, so confirm with a higher-timeframe trend rather than fading every touch.
Parameters
Hull Butterfly Length sets the underlying HMA's responsiveness — a shorter length reacts faster but is noisier. Hull Butterfly Multiplier scales the band width: wider bands give fewer, more selective extreme signals; narrower bands trigger more often.
