Forward Backward Exponential Oscillator (FBEO)

← All indicators

FBEO

A filtered band-energy oscillator that smooths price then measures how far it stretches from its mean.

How to read it

FBEO first smooths price, then measures how far price stretches from that smoothed mean — a band-energy oscillator around zero. Positive (green) energy means price is stretched above its mean, negative (red) below. Large excursions signal strong, possibly over-extended moves.

Trading signals

An extreme that fades back toward zero warns of exhaustion and possible mean-reversion; a zero cross marks the shift from below-mean to above-mean energy. Sustained one-sided energy, by contrast, confirms a trend rather than fading it.

Parameters

FBEO Length sets the smoothing / mean window — a longer length gives a smoother, slower energy line that ignores small wiggles. FBEO Smoothing further filters the energy line itself to cut jitter at the cost of a little extra lag.
